Branch Rickey( Right) was criticized by many of the other managers in the Major League for signing a black man to play with his team. By signing Jackie Robinson, he not only aquired one of the greatest players in the game's history, he opened up the door for many other races to not only play Major League Baseball, but all the other proffessional sports as well.
